What is "vision"?
Habakkuk 2:2 KJV says: And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Vision is the ability to look down through the years and see, with the eye of the Spirit, what lies ahead.
When it comes to the vision that God has for your life, others cannot see for you, you have to see for yourself. God promised Abraham a son, but when Sarah first heard what God had said, she laughed in disbelief because it seemed so impossible.
There may be many obstacles in your way—things that stand between you and the fulfillment of your vision—but when God opens your eyes, you will see clearly and you will continue on towards that goal, firm in your faith, no matter what comes your way.
Do not become discouraged if you haven't seen the fulfillment of the vision yet. Abraham waited 25 years for his promised son. If you are impatient, you may move ahead of God, and produce an Ishmael, as Abraham did. Instead of trying to move the hand of God ourselves, we must rather be patient and trust Him. Who or what is your Isaac? Be patient, God's Word never fails.
You may be wondering: what God's vision is for your life. As you watch this series, let the Holy Spirit speak to you concerning His vision for you. Maybe God has already given you a vision—as you watch this, you will be encouraged to let patience have its perfect work in your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to take control of your life, so you can ultimately see the fullness of the vision God has for you come to pass.
