Dealing with Offenses
ProductPublish date: 10/19/2012
If you walk the Christian walk you will have an opportunity to be offended. Jesus said unto them, “All ye shall be offended because of me this night” (Matthew 26:31). Jesus was saying that if you walk the Christian walk, you will have the opportunity to be offended. You have to come around the table of the Lord and look at your heart. You must make sure that you are not offended because the enemy will come to trip you up, to sideline you. God has great and wonderful things He wants to do through your life. We cannot fulfill the vision and dreams that God has given us for our lives if we are offended. You cannot do it if your are bitter and angry. You have to let all of that go. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and let yesterday be gone. Press on to the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).
Look into your heart. You may be saved, but is there any area in your heart where you have allowed an offense to come in? Some people love the Lord with all their heart but they are offended about giving or soul winning or miracles. Is there something in your walk that offended you? If so, it is the very thing that is blocking you from receiving the benefit of what heaven has purchased for you at Calvary's cross. Do not get offended during the storms of life; the offense will sideline you.
As long as we keep our heart right, as long as we keep our heart pure, it's going to be okay. You might have storms that come against you, things that come your way, attacks of the enemy but the Lord will bring you through every single one of those. Choose not to be offended – choose not to be sidelined by the enemy.
