Foundation Scriptures:
And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the fields; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly. 6 And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the Lord their God, and laid them by heaps. 7 In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. 8 And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the Lord, and his people Israel. 9 Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. 10 And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the Lord, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the Lord hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store. 2 Chronicles 31:5-10 KJV
1. The Lord is Your Source and Supply.
a. Deuteronomy 8:1-20
b. Deuteronomy 8:1 NKJV –– Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers.
c. In the Kingdom of God there is no lack—only an infinite supply of every good thing we could ever have need of.
d. But the only way into the blessing is through carefully observing the commandments of El Shaddai—Almighty God—the God of more than enough.
2. The Key to Blessings.
a. Keep the commandments of the Lord your God, walk in His ways and fear (honor and obey) Him (Deut. 8:6).
b. Beware that you do not forget Him by neglecting His commandments (Deut. 8:11).
c. And when you are living the good life that God has provided you, do not make the mistake of saying in your heart, ‘My power—my intelligence, my work, and my abilities have been responsible for my wealth.’ (Deut. 8:17).
d. Remember that it is the Lord your God Who gives you power to get wealth by keeping His covenant promises (Deut. 8:18).
e. He keeps His covenant promises to you—and if you want to be blessed, and remain blessed, you must keep your covenant promises to Him; to love, serve, acknowledge, and obey Him.
f. If you forget God, by becoming prideful, or by attaching too much importance to material things, or caring more about opinions of men, you will forfeit the blessings and protections of Heaven (Deut. 8:19-20).
3. Never Forget the Source.
a. Deuteronomy 8:12-13 AMPC –– Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses and live in them, 13 And when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all you have is multiplied.
b. When you are living in the lap of luxury, it is easy to forget where you came from.
c. Never forget where you were, what God did for you, what difficulties He brought you through, and how faithful He was to keep His Word to you.
d. Deuteronomy 8:14-16 AMPC –– Then your [minds and] hearts be lifted up and you forget the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, 15 Who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, but Who brought you forth water out of the flinty rock, 16 Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.
e. Remind yourself of how good God has been to you.
f. Stop to give Him thanks whenever you have the opportunity.
g. Let it be a testimony—a reminder to you—and encouragement to others.
4. There is More Than Enough to Go Around.
a. Unfortunately, sometimes people are envious of the blessing on someone else’s life, without understanding what they went through to get there.
b. Firstly, never be envious of the blessings of others.
c. Understand that the blessings come from above and that El Shaddai, Jehovah Jireh, has more than enough blessing to pour out on you, and on everyone else, many times over.
5. Don’t Let the Blessing Become a Burden.
a. Mark 4:19 AMPC –– Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.
b. Keep your heart free from covetousness.
c. Do not allow the enemy to trap you in fear or worry.
d. These distractions only serve to get you to take your eyes off the Word.
e. The remedy is to make it a habit to cast every care onto Jesus—and don’t take it back.
f. Keep thanking and praising Him and do what He tells you to do.
g. How much money; wealth; riches; is enough?
h. When will you be satisfied?
i. If you are not at peace and satisfied with where you are now, you will never be satisfied, no matter how much you acquire.
j. Allow God to set the level of your prosperity.
k. Work, give, serve, be responsible for what is in your hands now, and rejoice.
l. Let God take care of the rest.
