Hurricane Irma Relief Update
VP Mike Pence Co-laboring with RMI in Naples, FLPublish date: 09/20/2017
Adonica and I thank you for praying for us in Tampa, FL. Tampa was spared from the brunt of Hurricane Irma, but many places in Florida were severely affected.
Please, keep Naples, FL and surrounding areas in your prayers as well as our relief teams as they continue to minister to those who were affected by Hurricane Irma.
Naples, FL, according to Mayor Bill Barnett, "took a real hard hit." Hurricane Irma plunged some neighborhoods under water. Some areas were flooded by 6-feet of storm surge and the winds were gusting to more than 140 mph. Almost all of Collier County's 300,000 residents were without power Monday, September 11th. Trees and power lines barricaded streets. A farming community farther east, Immokalee, was turned into a flood zone.
On Tuesday, September 12th, we dispatched relief teams to Naples, FL and partnered with other ministries to make an eternal difference in the lives of thousands. Our teams remained there on the ground. On Thursday, September 14th, our relief teams had the privilege of co-laboring with Vice President Mike Pence. Vice President Mike Pence prayed for all the residents who were affected by Hurricane Irma and thanked all the volunteers and ministries involved in bringing relief. So far, over 60 tons of water, 40 tons of food, and 40 tons of bleach have been distributed throughout the region, and over 3000 people have made decisions for Jesus Christ. Today, we sent another relief team to preach the Gospel, bring hope, and to meet the needs of the people.
Please, will you pray and ask the Lord what He would have you to give today to help send more assistance? Together, we are making a difference.
Adonica and I thank you for giving your very best.
“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink…” Matthew 25:35 (Amplified)
Here are just a couple of Hurricane Relief Testimonies:
As we drove through the communities shouting, “water and food,” the people came running out - children, grandmothers, mothers, and fathers. I've never seen anything like it! We blessed them with food and water and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many received Christ! It was amazing to see the relief on their faces. It was a blessing to be able to let them know that they are not forgotten. Taisha M.
We had loaded the van with food and water and headed to another location, Immokalee. When we arrived, we saw severe flooding all over the area. We found a place to park and announced that we had free food and water. People came from everywhere. When we saw that we did not have enough, we started asking people to share with each other and, amazingly, they did. We shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them and 208 people, right there, made decisions for Jesus Christ! Esmond B.
Please, do whatever the LORD directs you to do; invest now.
For souls,
